What are Fornite x Marvel comics and where to read them

Along with being able to zoom in as Doctor Strange or Scarlet Witch in Fortnite, players will soon be able to read more Marvel and Fortnite crossover comics. Following the success of Nexus War: Thor #1 (Donny Cates and Greg Land), in which Thor, as the Herald of Galactus, travels to the land of Zero Point to investigate a mysterious energy source, Marvel and Fortnite team up for another tie-in story in June 2022 Instead of the comic acting as a unique prequel to a Fortnite event, zero war will feature five full issues as its own miniseries.

Throughout May and in anticipation of this important event, Marvel has even released unique Fortnite variants from different launch and ongoing series. Each cover features a Marvel character and a Fortnite character going head-to-head. These include Captain America (Sam Wilson) vs. Omega; Captain Carter v. Cuddle Team Leader; Captain Marvel vs. Dark Bomber; Ghost Rider vs. Raider; Iron Fist versus Fade; Hellcat v. Lynx; Joe Fixit v. Rippley; Silk c. Blaze; Spider-Man 2099 vs. Drifter; and Venom versus Big Mouth.

What is the story about?

While previews already show more Marvel heroes coming for zero war, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Shuri and Iron Man are the main characters alongside The Imagined and Jonesy from Fortnite. Written by Christos Gage and Donald Mustard, the story was drawn by Sergio Dávila, with the issue one cover created by Leinil Francis Yu.

The comic book story follows the inhabitants of the island who are locked in what seems be a never-ending war, and only one thing has the potential to turn the tide: a crystallized fragment from Zero Point that was thrown into the Marvel Universe. Spider-Man and Wolverine team up with Shuri and several Fortnite fan favorites to hunt down the elusive Zero Shard. Can these allies find him in time and avoid disaster? And can the heroes of Marvel and Fortnite realities hold out the Imaginary Order long enough to give them a fighting chance?

The first issue of zero war will be available on June 8. More issues are coming on July 13, August 17, August 31 and September 28.
